Innovation: three-layer composite sheet for soft beddings
The aim of our developments are materials that enable efficient work at the highest quality level. Shortly after the market launch of Lunatec fusion, we presented a new soft three-layer composite panel at the EXPOLIFE trade fair.
The 3-layer EVA composite sheet nora® Lunatec combi motion T2 is a material that is especially suited for the treatment of painful and pressure sensitive feet. The material composition combines outstanding functionality, characteristic softness and low weight.
Extremely soft bedding
The top layer made from Lunatec motion absorbs shear forces caused by walking and has extremely soft bedding properties. The excellent bedding and absorption properties, also in the horizontal load plane, ensure optimum pressure distribution and concentrated pressure relief.
In this way, especially feet with painful areas can be treated in the best possible way.
The material has been tested for skin compatibility. The closed cell structure prevents the penetration of wound secretions and sweat and thus stops germs, bacteria and fungi from infiltrating the material. Secretions sticking to the surface can be removed hygienically using standard commercial disinfectants.
With their permanently elastic and stabilising properties, the two lower layers create the ideal structure for supporting sensitive feet. The layers, which have different hardnesses, are fused with each other in a smooth transition.
The advantages are clear:
- enormous time and cost savings
- one thermoforming process is sufficient
- clean, fast and healthy working
- no contamination by adhesive
- ready for use immediately after cooling
Three materials with different properties have already been combined in the manufacturing process and can be used for numerous orthopaedic treatments. Because of the total thickness of approx. 20 mm, nora® Lunatec combi motion T2 is ideal for the manufacture of thicker orthopaedic foot beddings, soft bedding insoles, diabetes-adapted foot beddings or beddings for orthopaedic shoes.
The foot beddings can be manufactured in only one deep-drawing process, saving time and money, without the use of adhesive.

Processing instructions
The manufacturing of insoles and foot beddings is very simple: cut Lunatec combi motion T2 to size and heat it in the oven at approx. 130°C, place it on the last in one step and thermoform it. After the cooling phase, grind into shape and the foot bedding or insole is ready.
Recommended heating time: approx. 9 minutes
Recommended cooling time: approx. 18 minutes
Processing hints
- For optimum moulding of lower areas, the use of a metatarsal pad is recommended.
- Brief blow-drying of the surface makes the shoe easier to put on.
