Some products had already become known before the new product range brochure from nora systems was published, while others appeared on the market for the first time here. Diversity and high quality definitely distinguish the range of products for 2011/2012.
A product innovation with quite special characteristics is the Astro med 10. This new material made of lightweight expanded rubber combines the benefits of an extremely soft material (approx. 10 Shore A) with the advantages of a closed cell material. A combination that is so unique because in contrast to polyurethane foams, this is a closed cell cushioning material based on expanded rubber with excellent restoration capabilities. The closed surface can be cleaned perfectly or hygienically disinfected. Despite its extreme softness, the cushioning material offers excellent restoration capability. Unlike EVA materials, the lightweight expanded rubber material is not thermoformable and is bonded in cold condition. Astro med 10 is used as cushioning in orthetics and prosthetics, heel and forefoot cushioning, continuous top cushioning layer of an insert, as heel spur cavities for heel spur inserts or as upper cushioning. Astro med 10 is meanwhile available in four thicknesses: 3 / 4.5 / 6 / 9 mm.
Of course, it is not just the technical properties that are important, but attractive designs are as well. That's why we have added the proven qualities of Lunasoft SL (approx. 40 Shore A) and Lunasoft SLW (approx. 30 Shore A) to the new product range as trendline versions in new colour variations. Lunasoft SL trendline is now available in a new colour 4461 retro, and for the first time Lunasoft SLW trendline is also available in the patterned colour 4462 anthracite-orange. Both materials are outstanding cushioning or covering sheets for inserts, shaping elements, soft sockets or foot beddings.
With the new range, we also present a new composite sheet: Lunatec combi 8 is the vulcanised composition of two particularly special nora EVA materials. The innovative combination of Lunatec SE and Lunatec EP has created a material which has already firmly bonded two outstanding qualities during the manufacturing process, thereby uniting two essential material properties: Immense restoration capability and exceptional dimensional stability.
There are also some new milling material products. Lunatec CAD 55, with a Shore hardness of approx. 55 Shore A and a density of 0.28 g/m³, is extremely well suited for solid and stable milled inserts made of high-grade EVA lightweight cell material. The attractive 318 ice blue shade lends the material the matching colour character as well. We had presented the new milled compound sheeting Lunatec combiCAD 2 in detail some time ago. We have also incorporated this high-quality, 3-layered milling sheeting in our product range brochure.
Of course, there are also some new products in the outsole material range. For instance, it now also includes the new modern sole material, Contex. The profile 66 RS with good grip provides for a high degree of slip-resistance. With a thickness of 1.8 mm, Contex is ideally suited for flexible processing and adaptation to the shoe, while the polished back allows for optimum bonding.
